Changes to School Lunch Program

Dear Preston School District Parents,

On August 31st the USDA announced the release of funds allowing schools to provide free lunches through December. In an effort to help families who may not qualify for free and reduced lunches and may be suffering from the effects of COVID 19, Preston School District will be implementing the USDA free breakfast and lunch for ALL students starting Monday, September 21st. This will only be effective until the end of December or until funding runs out. We encourage all students to take advantage of this opportunity.

Those who have been paying for meals will be credited for any lunch purchased since September 1st. Negative balances and lunch purchases incurred prior to September 1st in the cafeteria will still need to be paid.

All lunch money currently paid will remain on students' accounts as a credit.

Please continue to fill out Free and Reduced applications so you are ready to go for January 1, 2021.

Thank you for supporting the Preston School Lunch Program

Sincerely,

Candy Longhurst

PSD 201 Food Services Director
